BIDS

When submitting a bid for RUM, make sure to follow all Kingdom requirements for Kingdom Level Event bids. Bids are to be sent to the Crown, the Heirs, the Kingdom Seneschal, the Kingdom Level Event Deputy, and the RUM Chancellor.

With the Royal University of Meridies event, the local hosting group is responsible for securing the site, handling Troll, handling the overall event schedule (except classes), and hosting the Crowns of Meridies. The RUM Staff will handle all class scheduling (including Page School that RUM hosts). The autocrat (or a designated site liaison) will need to work closely with the RUM Chancellor and the RUM Regent to ensure that needed spaces for classes and Page School are available and have any necessary equipment.

The requirements for hosting RUM are:

Spaces for at least 12 classes with 10 to 30 people in attendance at each. Space to hold Court.
Space for the RUM Staff to set up and work (tables and chairs are needed, as well as electricity).
Space for Page School to be (handled by Kingdom MOC Page School Dean).
Space for the Royals (handled by hosting group in coordination with RUM Staff), including private area for Court Prep.
Space for Troll (handled by hosting group).

The event can be a weekend or daytrip. If it is a daytrip, the ability to see the classrooms on Friday, and possibly set up some things as well, are a huge bonus. Nearby accommodations are preferred if it’s a daytrip. RUM Staff is made up of people from all over the Kingdom.

Food options are up to the hosting group.

All buildings used should be ADA Accessible.
